autumn winter 18
It all started with an inspirational trip to Tokyo, a city full of contrasts where the historic elements are constantly being merged with new, vibrant movements. This is particularly noticeable when exploring their street style that has been taken to another level, showcasing both the city's rich heritage and its keen eye for today's most relevant trends. Their unusual mix of prints, colors and materials is unique, and has influenced the diversity you will find in our Autumn/Winter 2018 collection.
It is essential for us to work with these contrasts, in order to challenge our feminine design DNA. The leopard print gives a young, edgy feel to ladylike shirt dresses, and the army print gives a new masculine twist to our classic suit. Furthermore, the unavoidable leisure trend is found in our parka coat, shorts and trackpants – again giving the collection a sporty and fresh dimension. Other key prints this season have references to the fine details found in classic Japanese ceramics, folding screens and paper fans, where artistic nature elements like birds and flowers are often portrayed. You will also find items like printed obi belts and kimonos, which roots very clearly can be tracked back to the same period.
Contrary to this, the collection also reveals different graphics of both quirky and melancholy rabbits. Rabbits, so cute and gentle, so furry and soft are one of the animals which the Japanese are most familiar with. Besides being symbols of peace, rabbits are also considered to be lucky. Some believe that rabbits will make bad luck dissapear. Just in the same way as when you spot a rabbit in the wild and- in the blink of an eye – it's gone. The rabbits are found as front-print on our t-shirts, as well as hidden in the prints on our viscose. Here it can be hard to see them from a distance, but once you look closer you will find a field of rabbits, giving a playful yet graphic impression.
This seasons colors are peachy nude, bottle green, creamy butter yellow, camel, electric green, metallic and dashes of vibrant purple.
